This event is held the day prior to the Airshow on the Saturday.

2022 is a very special year for the LGACS & LG 10k run, as we mark 30 years of fundraising for children in need and other local children’s charities, to date we have raised around £350k.

Children in need is a charity that raises money for disadvantaged children and young people in the UK. The end goal for Children in Need is to make sure that every child has a safe, happy and secure childhood.

After a hugely successful first 10k run in 2021 and during a trying time after coming out of lockdown Little Gransden 10k is back and plans to be bigger and better!

Great feedback was given from the inaugural event, overall winner Edward Moffett commented: “thank you very much to you and all of the volunteers for putting on a lovely race. I loved the multi-terrain course which ensured that every step of the way was interesting”.
Barry Harper-Smith added: “the course was good; varied and interesting. The last hill was a killer…. but at least it got everyone talking! Loved the planes on the finish line!”
Justine Cullen added: “thanks for such a lovely 10k and thank you again for all your hard work organising it; hope you’ve managed to get some rest now it was a big success!”

Let’s celebrate this wonderful milestone together, and all that you have helped us achieve!

Remember that together, we can continue to help raising funds for those in need for many more years to come.

The LGACS 10k is staged at Little Gransden airfield, just one day ahead of the Little Gransden Air and Car Show, the inaugural LGACS 10K Run proved to be a big success - with almost 100 runners entering the event.

The event is a mixed terrain route across the beautiful Bedfordshire countryside. First across the line and overall winner was Edward Moffett in a time of 35 minutes and 53 seconds, while the first lady across the line was Clare Thurgood from the Cambridge & Coleridge AC in a very creditable time of 40 minutes and 3 seconds. Both now go down in history as the very first winners of the event, while holding the course record for at least a year!

An opportunity for sightseeing too
Competitors from outside the local area can take this opportunity to have a first-class run in great scenery in the morning and take time out to visit the beautiful, historic City of Cambridge in the afternoon.
